With the arrival of March, we always feel like the buses to Lakota are just around the corner.

We hope you are all having fun at home and succeeding in your school, work and extra curriculars. We have heard of so many great get-togethers over the last few weeks, birthdays, Sweet 16's and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. Congratulations to you all.

Cindy Yaeger is hard at work, as always, researching great new evening activities and camp trips for us all to enjoy. So you can look forward to a bunch of new surprises at Lakota 2012 as well. And Vinny Cartagena is rounding out our intercamp game schedule, so you will all have plenty of opportunity to get into the thick of it with our upstate rivals. As usual, with our great coaches and super campers, we know we will bring home many trophies. Sharon and Lenny continue to put together the best staff in camping and we are delighted that so many of your great counselors and group leaders are once again returning.

Our maintenance team has been working throughout the winter (thankfully not too much snow) and major work is being completed on the 5th Grade Girls Woodlane Lodge and the 8th Grade Girls Grove Lodge. On Boy's campus boys 14 has been completely renovated and new camper porches have been added to many of the boys cabins. As you may have heard, we completed major work on the Social Hall with renovations inside, including all new bathrooms as well as a giant new camper porch to highlight our new Social Hall entrance. There are dozens of other projects going on and scheduled over the next four months and we are sure you will love all the changes.

Our enrollment is way ahead of schedule, thank you again to all of our Early Birds. If you have not secured your spot in your bunk, please contact us as soon as possible to reserve your spot.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce that we have just launched our new On-Line Registration through the website. Many families have asked for this addition and we are happy to offer this to all of our families. From our website, you can now automatically sign-up for Camp Lakota. It's fast and easy. For those of you who prefer a paper application, it's still available for download on our website as well.

It's almost that time of year again, and we want to invite everyone to the Camp Lakota reunion which is scheduled for Sunday January 8th, 2012 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Park Ridge Marriott in Park Ridge, NJ.

It's almost that time of year again, and we want to invite everyone to the Camp Lakota reunion which is scheduled for Sunday January 8th, 2012 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Park Ridge Marriott in Park Ridge, NJ.

It will be a fantastic reunion. We will have amazing DJ Jay Cohen, a great breakfast and our annual awards ceremony.

The awards ceremony will include trophies for those who won summer honors, waterskiing trophies, swim-the-lake backpacks for our Masten Lake superstars and of course, our coveted 5 Year Jackets and 10 Year Fleeces.

Every family will also get their own copy of the 2011 Camp Lakota Video Yearbook DVD which we will premiere as well. It's jam packed with over an hour of sensational summer highlights.

With a life time of camping experience as a Counselor, Group Leader, Program Director and Head Counselor Lenny brings enormous enthusiasm and dedication to our team. During the summer Lenny will be our Boys Head Counselor. Throughout the winter, along with many other duties, Lenny will be responsible for the recruitment of our amazing staff.

He believes "An outstanding staff is the key to providing our campers with the best summer experience possible!"

As our Boys Head Counselor, he takes great pride in focusing on the needs of each camper, as well as building strong relationships with each family and cultivating a great staff.

Thank you all for an amazing 2011 summer. We are so proud of all of our campers for their participation and extraordinary level of achievement. Whether it was on the fields and courts,
on magnificent Masten Lake, within our fantastic Arts programs or at our wonderful specialty activities, our campers had non-stop fun all throughout Camp Lakota.

And we also want to take this opportunity to thank our amazing staff. Our teachers and coaches and our college age counselors all helped to lead our dynamic Camp Lakota program.

We hope you have all settled back into school and all your fun fall extracurricular activities. We wish you only success.
