Staff Spotlight - Lakota 2011

Allan Warsaw - Swimming Director (22nd Summer!)

Meet Allan Warsaw, our Swimming Director. This will be Allan's 22nd summer at Camp Lakota making sure everyone is safe, happy and learning how to swim. Allan oversees our pool and our Red Cross staff of lifeguards. His team makes sure that everyone who comes to Camp Lakota becomes an excellent swimmer, through our scheduled swim instruction program. All of our campers are evaluated by Allan and his staff, and starting with our youngest campers, they become part of an age appropriate Red Cross swim instruction program.

Allan loves to have fun at our pools as well. He supervises our night swims under the lights, water volleyball, general swims and our swim meets. While the fun never stops, safety and instruction are always his two main goals.

Allan is a Red Cross certified WSI and has been a Physical Education Teacher and coached throughout the metropolitan area for over 30 years. Allan is currently in his 18th year of coaching the Ramapo New York High School swim team. Allan has had two Divisional Championship swim teams, has coached a NY State Public School 50 yard freestyle champion and has had one All-American swimmer in the breast stroke. Allan was Rockland County's Coach of the Year in 2002.

Allan's three children have all attended Lakota and he and his wife Brenda are looking forward to seeing everyone this summer.
