What to Pack

Our packing list outlines clothing, bedding, toiletries, footwear and other camp gear that will be useful at camp. Adhering as closely as possible to the  Camp Lakota Packing List will insure your child will have what they need and be comfortable. Download the full list HERE

IMPORTANT:

All clothing and gear MUST be labeled with your campers full name, either with a nametape label, stamp, or written in permanent ink.

Clothing that is washing machine friendly and wears well is highly recommended. We have a weekly laundry service on the premises, for all of our campers. Therefore, there is no reason to exceed the suggested clothing quantities.

We recommend comfortable clothing and items that can withstand the rigors of everyday active camp life. It is quite possible that items throughout the summer might get torn or stained. Throughout the summer we do have dances, socials and an end of summer banquet- so campers may want to have a nicer outfit or two for those special occasions.

With respect to equipment, Camp Lakota has everything. However, If your camper would like to bring their favorite baseball glove, tennis racket, etc., they are welcome to do so.

We also recommend that each camper bring a pair of boots with a heel. These boots will be good for horseback riding, hiking, and for rainy days. Please keep in mind that per the NYS Board of Health regulations campers MUST have a shoe with a minimum heel height of 1″ for horseback riding.

While we have protective equipment, we recommend that campers wishing to rollerblade and skateboard bring their rollerblades/board, an approved helmet and appropriate padding for proper sizing and optimal safety. Rollerblading and skateboarding is allowed at Lakota in our approved and supervised areas.  Campers who would like to play Roller Hockey and Skateboard are required to wear a helmet, elbow and knee pads.

Screen Free Campus

Please keep in mind that we do not allow cell phones, iPods, tablets, laptops, and any other devices with screens during the camp session. Campers are allowed to have their phones on the bus ride to camp but they must hand them in when they get to camp, all devices will be carefully labeled and safely kept in the office to be returned at the end of the session. Campers may bring iPods or other music players as long as they cannot connect to the internet, if you have any questions or would like to go over what your child can bring please give us a call at 845-888-5611
