All Camp Lakota campers travel to and from camp by chartered bus. It’s part of the tradition here; the summer starts the moment your camper steps on board and finds a seat next to a friend they haven’t seen since last August.
We have bus stops across New York and New Jersey, and chartered bus transportation is included in your tuition.

We ask that all campers take the bus to and from camp. There are several bus stops in New York and New Jersey to make the trip convenient for every family.
When you complete your enrollment forms, you’ll be asked to fill out a Bus Choice Form, where you’ll select which stop you’ll be bringing your camper to. If you have more than one camper, please complete a separate form for each child.
Important: Vehicles are not permitted on campus during the summer, so we’re unable to accommodate parent drop-off on opening day.

Campers can bring only a carry-on backpack with them to their seat. All other bags and trunks are shipped to camp separately ahead of opening day through our baggage service, so nothing else needs to travel on the bus.

There are three stops: Macy’s Manhasset on Long Island, an office complex parking lot at 200 White Plains Road in Tarrytown for Westchester families, and the Montvale Park & Ride off the Garden State Parkway in northern New Jersey.

Only a carry-on backpack. All trunks and duffels are shipped ahead through Camp Trunk Delivery and will be waiting in your camper’s bunk when they arrive.
