What the Golf Program Includes

Our on-campus golf training facility gives campers a dedicated space to learn and improve, featuring:

  • A putting green
  • A sand trap
  • Several personal driving nets for swing practice

Beginners are guided through all the essentials: etiquette, rules, pre-shot routines, scoring, and club selection. Intermediate players focus on swing mechanics and short game refinement, including how to handle tricky shots from varied lies, the cart path, pine straw, mulch, and side-hill positions.

Explore a full day at Camp Lakota to see how golf fits into the full camp schedule or visit our programs page to find your child’s age group.

Private Lessons & Off-Campus Rounds

Campers who want to go further can sign up for private or small-group lessons with our instructors. We also offer off-campus golf excursions, which are half-day trips to Tarry Brae Golf Course, where campers work with a professional instructor and experience the thrill of playing on a full, beautifully maintained course.

Why Parents Choose Lakota for Junior Golfers

Camp Lakota’s golf program offers something most camps simply don’t:

  • On-campus facilities designed for learning. A dedicated putting green, sand trap, and driving nets mean campers can practice any time the schedule allows.
  • Real course experience. Off-campus, half day excursions to Tarry Brae Golf Course where your camper will work with a professional instructor and experience the thrill of playing on a full course.
  • Instruction for every level. From beginners learning their first grip to intermediate players refining their short game, the program is genuinely tailored.
  • Private lessons available. One-on-one time with an instructor accelerates progress and builds confidence faster than group-only settings.
  • ACA-accredited and trusted. Camp Lakota meets nationally recognized standards for health, safety, and programming through the American Camp Association.
  • Screen-free focus. Without devices as a distraction, campers invest fully in the game, and in each other.
