Camp Lakota is excited to offer golf as part of our growing activity roster. Whether your child has never held a club or has been playing for years, our golf program gives every camper a chance to explore the game in a beautiful, supportive setting, right here in the Catskill Mountains.
As an ACA-accredited camp, our programs and facilities meet rigorous standards for safety and quality. Our facility opened in 2025 boasts a putting green, a sand trap, and several personal driving nets. This program is designed to inspire campers to explore a new sport, hone their skills, or refine their techniques.
Our on-campus golf training facility gives campers a dedicated space to learn and improve, featuring:
Beginners are guided through all the essentials: etiquette, rules, pre-shot routines, scoring, and club selection. Intermediate players focus on swing mechanics and short game refinement, including how to handle tricky shots from varied lies, the cart path, pine straw, mulch, and side-hill positions.
Explore a full day at Camp Lakota to see how golf fits into the full camp schedule or visit our programs page to find your child’s age group.
Campers who want to go further can sign up for private or small-group lessons with our instructors. We also offer off-campus golf excursions, which are half-day trips to Tarry Brae Golf Course, where campers work with a professional instructor and experience the thrill of playing on a full, beautifully maintained course.
