Waterskiing

Make a Splash on Masten Lake

Camp Lakota is fortunate to have beautiful Masten Lake right on campus — and it’s the perfect place to learn, practice, and perfect your waterskiing skills. Our waterskiing program gives every camper the chance to feel the rush of getting up on skis for the first time, or to sharpen a technique they’ve been working on.

One-on-one lessons are available right on campus with our trained professionals. Beginners work through the essential fundamentals — balance, posture, rope technique, and how to get up from the water — with the kind of patient, personalised instruction that builds real confidence. Campers who already ski focus on refining their form, building speed, and mastering more advanced techniques. As an ACA-accredited camp, all waterfront programs meet rigorous safety standards. Explore a day at Camp Lakota or visit our programs page to find your child’s division.

What the Waterskiing Program at Camp Lakota Looks Like

Beginners: Getting Up on Two Skis

For campers who’ve never waterskied before, our instructors start from the very beginning, teaching how to position in the water, how to hold the rope, how to communicate with the boat driver, and how to find balance as the boat pulls. Getting up for the first time is one of those camp moments that campers celebrate loudly and remember forever.

Experienced Skiers: Refining Your Technique

For campers who already know the basics, lessons focus on improving form, building confidence at higher speeds, and working on more advanced skills. Our instructors provide honest feedback and tailored guidance that makes a real difference over the course of a summer.

Private Lessons Available

Want to level up your waterskiing game? One-on-one lessons are available right on campus with our trained pros. We’ll help your camper master the basics or take their technique to the next level—all while having a blast!
