We boast a high return rate among our college-age counselors, consistently bringing back experienced, caring team members summer after summer. Alongside our counseling staff, our adult instructors and coaches, many of them are professionals in education, sports, and the arts, bring real expertise and elevated leadership to every corner of campus.

Hannah’s Lakota journey began at just four years old, when she followed in her father’s footsteps as a second-generation camper. She went on to spend twelve summers at Lakota, growing up on Masten Lake and building the kind of memories that never really leave, including College Olympics, Sing Night, the Burning of the Numbers, and all the traditions that make Lakota feel like home. She even named her dog Kota after the place that means the most to her.
After a few years away, Hannah is back where it all began, this time as a full-time director, working alongside her father who owns Lakota. She is grateful every day to help create the same unforgettable summers for today’s campers that shaped her own childhood. Danielle started attending Lakota at age ten alongside her seven-year-old sister, a decision rooted in family tradition, as her mother had her own fond memories of camp. During her first summer, Danielle met Mike, also a ten-year-old camper. Over the next eleven summers, they returned together, growing closer each year. In 2003, Danielle and Mike married, continuing a legacy of lifelong Lakota connections, including Mike’s own parents, who met at Lakota before them.
Danielle brings that deep, personal understanding of what this place means to the families who return year after year. For her, camp isn’t a job, it’s a continuation of a story that started decades ago.
